Spark your curiosity for, and enjoyment of language and translation through a practical translation activity. This masterclass involves a hands-on workshop where you'll be given a selection of images that relate to the subject or mood of a poem that you'll later translate. You’ll identify key words and ideas from the images before reading the poem. You'll be given a glossary so you don't need to worry about knowing certain vocabulary. You’ll work in groups to produce a first draft of your translation and then refine it to ensure it reads smoothly in English.

This masterclass supports the Modern Foreign Languages A Level syllabus, which include an element of translation for most boards. It goes beyond just language learning and encourages you to be creative in engaging with the material.
