If you are turning your thoughts to life in academia after your PhD studies, then you need to know about Postdoctoral Research Funding. David Evans from the College of Social Sciences Research Support Office will be giving an introductory talk on a range of funding schemes open to Postdoctoral researchers that are designed to help you get a foot on the academic career ladder. The talk will be of particular interest to those studying in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, and will also provide useful general information to those studying in other disciplines. It will also be most relevant to those in the final year of their doctoral studies, but of course all postgraduate researchers are welcome. Think Graduate School (TGS) Fridays are informal talks and discussions on prominent topics to postgraduate researchers at the University of Birmingham. They are delivered by the people that know best: postgraduate researchers (and where appropriate, academics). They happen every other Friday and refreshments are provided. TGS Fridays are a great way to meet new people in an informal and friendly setting, and learn from other postgraduate researchers at the University of Birmingham.
