The roles and responsibilities of Directors

This seminar is the first of a two part series offering support and information to present and future company directors.

As an academic working closely with an external business or someone involved in ‘spinning out’ a company from the University, you may be offered the opportunity to become a company director.
This is not a role to be taken lightly as there are a series of statutory, common law and equitable obligations that the board of directors owe to the corporation of which they are directors. This session being led by Emma Callow, Senior Associate of Pinsent Masons (with 10 years corporate experience) is aimed at academics who are either already company directors or who may be considering taking on such a role in the future and aims to identify some of the key roles and responsibilities of directors.
