Cyber business resilience in a world of increasing digitisation and growing geo-political uncertainty

Graham Ingram, Chief Information Security Officer, Capgemini

In the wake of a significant growth in cyber-attacks affecting businesses, academia, government, healthcare, and Critical National Infrastructure, how can business leaders be expected to understand this crucial but complex environment? Our increasing reliance on digital ways of working is often not fully understood until our systems are compromised and the business is unable to function. Cyber professionals must be able to explain the cyber threat, and the effectiveness of mitigations provided by cyber security, in a way that business leaders can understand and own the risk.

Graham Ingram is a thought-leader in Cyber Security. He is Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for Capgemini and was previously the CISO for the University of Oxford with responsibility for both security operations and GRC (Governance, Risk & Compliance) activities throughout the collegiate university. Prior to this, he was Chief of Staff for Deloitte Government and Public Sector (GPS) cyber team. His career in Information Security was built on strong foundations with the British Army's ICT arm – The Royal Corps of Signals.

The Annual Birmingham Business School Advisory Board Guest Lecture is the pivotal event of the Business School calendar is always given in response to a key issue in business that has come to the fore during the year.
