Discover a new layer of stories within the History through Objects exhibition!

The University of Birmingham is a place of ground-breaking innovation and research: come and enjoy a tour of incredible objects that tell this story. Discover hydrogen trains, symbolic daggers, paranormal devices and miniature suns, and learn about the people and teams behind them.

The exhibition showcases a range of historical and contemporary examples of research and discovery, created in Birmingham with global reach - affecting the lives of millions of people around the world. Through objects, the exhibition tells the stories of the research itself, the people behind it and those whose lives have been changed by it.

There are nine stops on the tour, taking around an hour, but you are welcome to dip in and out. To access the tour, visit the exhibition and look for the headphone symbols on the exhibition maps. Use your own device to scan the QR codes at each stop to uncover fascinating stories about each object or area of research.
