What can we learn from experiments in economics?
Economists too can conduct experiments, and controlled ones at that. The last 3 decades have seen a tremendous increase in the use of experiments in economics, from controlled laboratory experiments to field experiments. Experiments are useful to test the validity of economic theories, test-bed new market mechanisms and better understand the fundamental principles behind individual and strategic decision-making.
