Our MSc in Mathematical Finance develops mathematical and computational skills so that our students are fully prepared to assess and reduce risks when exploring investment opportunities in the face of uncertainty.
Our MSc is a 12-month full-time advanced course with core economic, mathematical, and financial topics, focusing on independent study and research as well as key skills for aspiring quantitative analysts.
During this term you'll build a solid foundation in financial mathematics. You’ll explore core topics such as mathematical finance, stochastic processes, and machine learning. These modules are designed to equip you with the quantitative, analytical, and data-driven decision-making skills essential for understanding financial markets, optimising portfolios, and engaging in predictive analytics and algorithmic trading.

Blending practical and technical elements, our course combines economic theory, mathematics, statistics and computer programming. Teaching is led by research leaders in mathematics, with core modules in programming and mathematical finance. You'll complete a 60-credit dissertation, tailored to careers in quantitative finance or academia.
We offer a combination of mid-week and weekend classes which are designed to accommodate those who choose to study full-time.
Our draft timetable for full-time students is designed to deliver teaching on weekday evenings from 18:00-21:00 and on Saturday and Sunday between 09:00-15:00. This programme is taught full-time only.
