The generous support of alumni, friends and charitable trusts made the Bramall Music Building a reality.
We would like to thank warmly everyone who made a gift towards this exceptional project as part of our Circles of Influence fundraising campaign. Donors’ support will be permanently commemorated by a wall of benefactors and individual seat plaques within the auditorium.
"What a worthwhile cause. The building looks beautiful, the semi circle will be complete and the music department will finally all be housed under one roof!"
Donor Sue Voysey (BMus Music, 1987)
A transformational donation from the Liz and Terry Bramall Charitable Trust plus extremely generous gifts from trusts, companies and many individuals has made the historic building’s completion possible. The new building is called The Bramall Music Building to reflect the magnitude of Liz and Terry’s gift and the University’s enduring gratitude.
"We are proud to be associated with a project that completes the historic Aston Webb semi-circle and provides show case facilities for the Department of Music. Supporting the building was a wonderful opportunity for our trust, which has young people, music and education at the heart of its work."
Donors Liz and Terry Bramall
The Bramall trust has also made a further generous gift to support the future development of Music at Birmingham, including growing a new suite of MA programmes to attract some of the very best music students in the world, increasing links with external partners such as the CBSO, and bringing in world renowned performers to teach and train our students.
