Global alumni

Welcome to the University of Birmingham’s global community of more than 101,000 alumni living overseas.

Alumni groups can help you stay connected to each other and the University of Birmingham, through events and activities held throughout the year. All of our groups represent the views, needs and interests of their alumni and support communities, provide contact points for local alumni, travelling alumni, academics and students, and support the next generation of leadership and inspiration through student recruitment and employability agendas. So, whether it's socialising with fellow alumni, seeking career advice, building a professional network, developing new skills or inspiring the lives of current and future University of Birmingham students, you will find support through your alumni networks.

All our established groups are co-ordinated by alumni volunteers who give their time, expertise, and resources to create an inclusive, active global community and support the advancement of the University of Birmingham.

To find out more about your local alumni group, please take a look below, where there is a list of our current alumni groups. If you don't see a group in your area and are interested in setting one up, please contact us.

The UoB Shanghai Alumni Association provides a wide range of events to its members and Birmingham alumni, such as networking events, social meet-ups, festival events, career talks, parties, and so on. Of course, we are also open to suggestions by alumni in terms of event types and aim to hold events on a regular basis.
