Join us for a special occasion as we welcome and celebrate the newest members of our alumni community in Malaysia.

On Saturday 31 August, over 60 dedicated teachers will graduate from our Teachers for Educational Equity programme at the AC Hotel Kuala Lumpur. We will be joined at this milestone event by Professor Karen Guldberg, Head of the School of Education, along with our esteemed supporters, Dato' Kathleen Chew from YTL Foundation and Stanley Tan from =DREAMS Asia.

This celebration is not only an opportunity to honour our graduating teachers but also a chance for established alumni to connect with our graduates and acknowledge their significant contributions to Malaysia’s educational landscape. Your presence will make this occasion even more memorable as we come together to network and celebrate the impactful work of our graduates.

Volunteer Opportunity

Interested in getting a behind-the-scenes look at the event? We’re seeking 2-3 alumni volunteers to assist with the ceremony on the day, from approximately 9.00 to 14:00 at the AC Hotel Kuala Lumpur. If you’d like to volunteer and help make this event a success, please email us for more details.

Teachers for Educational Equity is a collaborative programme between the University of Birmingham’s School of Education and YTL Foundation. This three-year initiative empowers practicing teachers through a research-engaged and experience-based pathway to a teaching qualification, enabling them to enhance their livelihoods and make meaningful contributions to their communities.

By registering for this event you agree to the sharing of your name and email address with the event organiser.

This event is solely for alumni of University of Birmingham.
