Travel and getting to campus
Whether you're travelling from Dudley or Dubai, it's time to start thinking about your journey to campus. We have useful information for international students, UK students, and students who will be living at home.
Getting to campus
Travelling to campus can be busy and stressful, but we're here to help.
Arriving to campus by car
We know lots of you will arrive to campus by car, with family or friends. Make sure you know which site you are heading to.
Guest parking is available in our North East Multistorey car park on Pritchatts Road. Disabled parking is available at all our car parks, and on campus.
Birmingham Clean Air Zone
If you are driving to campus, make sure you are aware of the Birmingham Clean Air Zone, which covers the city centre. Vehicles that do not meet the emission standards for the zone are subject to a daily fee. Campus itself is outside of the Zone, and it is possible to travel to campus from all directions without passing through the Zone. Many cars and vehicles are exempt.
Moving into accommodation
If you will be living with us during your studies, planning your arrival will be key.
For students moving into University or partner accommodation, you'll receive your offer and important updates via the Accommodation Portal. You can also use the portal to book your timeslot to move in. If you're looking for private accommodation in the local area, our Community Living team can provide you with advice and guidance.
Find out what to expect from booking your arrival time slot and arriving on the day. The moving in process at our partner accommodations may vary - check with your accommodation provider.
Commuting to campus
We know that not all students move into university accommodation - with our own train station and our central location, lots of students choose to live at home and commute. You may already be familiar with the local area but Welcome is a great way for you to explore campus, get involved with events and activities, and meet other people including other commuter students.
