As Director of Operations, Amy is responsible for leading and developing all Professional Services in the College to support delivery of the College’s and University’s strategic objectives. Amy works closely with the Head of College and is a member of College Board and the Registrar’s Leadership Group.

Amy contributes to the development of College strategy and priorities, and leads the Professional Services Senior Management Team to support ambitious academic plans, ensuring that our Professional Services teams function efficiently and effectively and work in partnership with academic colleagues.

College Hub PA Team

The College Hub Team provides support to the Pro-Vice Chancellor and Head of College, Deputy Head of College, Director of Operations, Directors of Education, Research and Global Engagement and the EDI Lead.

The office provides high quality and timely administrative and organisational support through a broad range of duties including: email and diary management, organising meetings and events, undertaking UK and overseas travel arrangements, liaising with a range of departments within the College, University and external stakeholders, as well as leading and supporting projects, monitoring and processing financial information and managing the College office budgets in accordance with financial regulations.

As Deputy Director of Operations (Research and Knowledge Transfer), Victoria works in partnership with the Director of Research to develop and deliver on the College Research Strategy; bringing together pre-award, business engagement and charitable funding research support professionals to facilitate a high performing research environment.

Victoria manages the grant pipeline, provides research planning and strategic project support to deliver on REF, support the leadership of interdisciplinary research communities of scale and capacity, and provide support for generating research impact.

Gregg Arrand
Deputy Director of Operations (College Operations)

As Deputy Director of Operations (College Operations), Gregg supports the Director of Operations to ensure the effective provision of strategic and operational support to the College of Life and Environmental Sciences and leadership of School-specific and general administration matters. Gregg leads on the development and implementation of strategic plans, policies and procedures and budgets to enable the College and University to deliver on strategic ambitions.

Gregg oversees the Operational leads in the Schools and Institutes within the College of Life and Environmental Sciences, and supervises the College Hub which provides both executive support to senior members of the College and general administrative support for College activities.

College Infrastructure and Facilities

As Deputy Director of Operations (Infrastructure and Facilities), Robyn  provides a high level of support to the Head of College and Director of Operations, developing strategic plans, and ensuring their implementation, for infrastructure and research facilities within the College.

Robyn’s role necessitates a good understanding of the College Research and Teaching Strategy to be able to develop major capital projects to enhance and develop the College portfolio.Robyn is also responsible for the space management of the College, which involves defining the space for future research in line with research and teaching growth trajectories.

As Deputy Director of Operations (Education), Jennifer is responsible for integrated education support activities across the College. Working in partnership with the College Director of Education, Jennifer leads the development and implementation of the College Education Strategy, working on our strategic priorities around service delivery, process improvement, systems and structures, recruitment, and education portfolio development.

Jennifer represents the College at University level across a range of issues, and works with colleagues from the other Colleges, sharing and influencing best practice.

As a member of College Board, Helen is the most senior HR professional within the College and Professional Services and is responsible for providing proactive and strategic support on HR matters to College staff.

This includes modelling the financial impact of decisions; support in developing business cases for investment and development of five-year plans; and supporting College Board through the Compact process, working closely with HR and Strategic Planning colleagues as a joined up business partner team.

As College Planning Partner, Neil helps support decision making processes around recruitment and target setting by providing analysis from a number of data systems. Neil identifies trends and areas of consideration that the College may wish to expand in to and liaises routinely with counterparts in the other Colleges to identify best practice and developments that can be used internally. Neil advises on programme development and the College’s education pipeline, as well as internal audit and oversight of the College’s Risk Register.

Katy leads a team of professionals, working with colleagues across the College, External Relations and the wider University to enhance the profile of education and research to a wide range of audiences. Katy also has responsibility for specific University Projects.

College IT Team

As the College IT Strategic Partner, Anthony is the main point of contact between IT Services and the College leadership and management team. Anthony works to ensure IT services provide the correct service to the College and adapts to the changing needs and demands from staff & students. Anthony also leads a number of IT services staff embedded within the College who provide specialist support to users working across research as well as teaching.
