Why did you apply to the University of Birmingham?
Ever since I was little, I have always wanted to study at the UK. I found an opportunity to study in University of Birmingham which is one of the top 100 universities in the world based on QS University rankings. Other than that, seeing the beautiful pictures of the campus, the major cultural aspects, and also the city itself really made me interested in applying.
What are the best points of your course?
Being able to explore in depth and experiment myself whilst having tutors available to help is one of the best points of my course, which I'd never been able to do back in my own country.
What’s the best thing about studying at the University of Birmingham?
The best thing about studying at Birmingham is meeting people and gaining new friends from various cultural backgrounds.
What's the highlight of your time here so far?
Pretty much everything that happened throughout winter because coming from a Muslim-majority country where there’s only a rainy season and a summer season, it was all very new and exciting for me. Seeing the Christmas market along the streets and trying all the delicious food was my favourite part.
What advice would you give to other international students?
Advice I would give to other international students is to not be scared; to ask questions and to try new things that you might not have been able to in your own country.
What do you like most about the city?
Everything feels so simple here and there’s not many unbearable traffic jams. Everywhere I go the view is always breath-taking and would always make an aesthetic photo.
