"I spent a wonderful year at University of Birmingham two years ago when I had just started my joint PhD programme between UoB and SUSTech. My supervisors and colleagues were a great help with my research project and luckily, these efforts resulted in a publication at the end of the year. Applying for the UoB-SUSTech programme is one of the best choices I have ever made. "
Why did you apply to the University of Birmingham?
I had a few choices between UK and Hong Kong universities when I finished my bachelor's degree in Southern University of Science and Technology. I decided to go further afield, take a look at somewhere new, somewhere I had never been to. This experience would definitely change my view of the world.
What’s the best thing about studying at the University of Birmingham?
One of the good things about studying at Birmingham is the way students participate in discussions with professors and teachers. I have also enjoyed some of the safety-training classes.
What did you do in your spare time?
Like most international students, for accommodation, I rent a room in a house. We share the living room, and spend time cooking Chinese food and hanging out together.
What advice would you give to other international students joining UoB?
Enjoy the life, try something new!
