Why did you apply to the University of Birmingham?
UoB is a member of the elite Russell Group of UK universities. The members of this group are world-class, research-intensive universities which maintain high standards of education and research. The School of Engineering is widely respected all around the UK as it supplies highly-qualified and highly-motivated graduates to the local workforce as well as the international workforce.
What are the best points of your course?
The course is a diverse mixture of many skills and its integration with the civil and the electrical engineers helps to gain more insight. The projects encourage collaboration and team work where frequent social interaction is required.
What’s the best thing about studying at the University of Birmingham?
Great Social life with people coming to study here from various backgrounds speaking different languages and different cultures.
What’s your highlight of your time at the University?
I have acquired a range of skills so far by attending events, workshops, programmes and challenges outside of my course which will help me with my future career prospects.
What advice would you give to other international students?
Engage yourself in the volunteering work, challenges and projects this University offers and try getting into different societies to socialise and gain experience. I would also recommend taking the full support the Careers Network provides as it will make a big difference.
What do you like most about the city?
Though it is the second city of England it’s still peaceful and less crowded when compared to London. Living in Birmingham is cheaper, and it is a soothing experience.
