We have done it! The Birmingham Running Festival has been a tremendous success ,with an incredible 57 runners raising a current total of £4,542.57 for the Teenage Cancer Trust ward at the QE Hospital.

MathSoc and ChemSoc have teamed up for the first time EVER to raise funds for a very worthy cause! On Saturday 22 February hoards of students from both societies decended on Sutton Park in Birmingham to run a 5k, 10k or a half marathon. It was cold and wet, but we did it!

We're still gathering the last few donations so if anyone would to like to contribute and help us reach our £5,000 target, here's the link to our fundraising page: https://www.justgiving.com/team/MathSocChemSocCharityRun2020?utm_source=Sharethis&utm_medium=team&utm_content=MathSocChemSocCharityRun2020&utm_campaign=pfp-email&utm_term=2c1ec64bd6254019bef13c3b7308a672

We are very proud of our efforts and all of our runners thoroughly enjoyed themselves too, we had a variety from first time runners to enthusiastic athletes. From the team train journey to the race itself, and then the group meal and night out after, smiles were strong and energy high throughout, despite the wet weather spirits were not dampened.

Huge congratulations and thanks to everyone who joined us!
