On 25 March 2015, to coincide with publication of Transitions in Undergraduate Mathematics Education, the University of Birmingham hosted a staff development event to explore some of the material covered by the book. Some 40 academics from institutions across the country, together with colleagues from the University of Birmingham, attended the event.
The authors of the chapters relating to lecturing, feedback on assessments, developing independent learners, using problem solving, and creating accessible learning environments each ran an interactive workshop. The presentation slides currently available are set out below:
