Nazir Afzal OBE graduated from the University of Birmingham in 1987. Since 1991 he is the Chief Crown Prosecutor of the Crown Prosecution Service for North West England. He is the first Muslim to be appointed to such a position and is Britain's most senior Muslim lawyer.
