Award Description
The George Watson Scholar Award, for home undergraduate students, enables you to be recognised and rewarded for your excellent academic achievements before arriving as a student at the University of Birmingham. If you have placed one of our courses as a firm choice and achieved at least A*A*A with an A* in Mathematics, you may be eligible for the George Watson Scholar Award.
Value of Award
The George Watson Scholar Award consists of £1000 during year 1 semester 1.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this award you must:
- Obtain the following A Level results or equivalent in other qualification systems*
- A* in Mathematics
- A*A in other subjects
- Be classified as UK for fees on your acceptance to the university.
- Be accepted to one of the following courses for year 1 entry in 2022 after placing it as firm choice in UCAS
- The Mathematics Excellence Award cannot be held in conjunction with the George Watson Scholar Award. The Excellence Award takes priority.
