The module requires students to demonstrate skill in subjective and objective assessment and develop their ability to recognise significant features and any limitations and influences which could have an impact of interpretation of findings. Ability to identify normal and abnormal ranges of human movement is developed, including practical ways of measuring movement, as well as means for facilitating normal movement. Students conduct manual therapy skills in massage and tissue mobilisation within a context of clinical reasoning. Principles of record keeping, and more specifically, ability to record findings from assessment, are established as a part of standard physiotherapy practise. Underpinning influences of effective communication and health and safety are recognised as fundamental throughout.
