This module covers the basic normal musculoskeletal anatomy necessary to understand functional anatomy, understanding functional movement and basic human biomechanics. Some of this learning will be shared with the Sport & Exercise Science students in lectures and in peer facilitated action learning sets supporting guided independent study. Further detailed practical anatomy will be covered within smaller physiotherapy-specific groups. These practical sessions will cover palpation of musculoskeletal structures, putting muscles into action, analysing functional movement and resisting the action to enable muscle identification, plus analysis of biomechanics of movement of the trunk and limbs.
