    Meet Manno

7:00 Getting ready for the day

Wake up and start the day off with a protein shake, oats and some fruit to fuel the day ahead. Then I pack some lunch to give me some energy for the rest of the activities I do throughout the day, but if I forget; there are some good options like burritos and Subway available on campus.

9:00 First lecture

I then arrive on campus and attend my first lecture which tends to usually be either exercise metabolism or we sometimes have labs/practicals that I have to attend such as; coaching practicals or psychology experiments.

11:00 Second lecture

I head to my second lecture, which right now is about professional & innovation practice (which teaches us how to coach sports to beginners).

13:00 Study time at the library

After working up a sweat, I  over to the library for research and study to apply what I have learned in class.

16:00 Basketball game

After that, I go to the Sports and Fitness Centre for a social basketball game with ISOC (Islamic Society) which helps me relieve some stress as I engage in some physical activity.

  • University of Birmingham sports pitches with Old Joe and Great Hall in the background

    17:00 Football game

Usually, I have social football booked straight after basketball, and we play on the 3G pitches on campus which helps me stay active while having fun.

18:00 Dinner time

After basketball and football back to back I tend to get a bit hungry so after I take a shower, I head down to Selly Oak and eat out from one of the food places there. There are a lot of options to choose from including; Yakinori, Pepe’s and many more cultural food places.

19:30 Gym session

After fuelling up, I make my way to the gym to do some weightlifting and callisthenics.

  • Male chatting in a kitchen

    21:00 Socialising with housemates

Return home and cook some new meals with my housemates, and now and then we have a bake-off, where some “interesting” things have been made.

22:00 Chilling out

Around this time, I usually start to wind down and chill, either by watching some Netflix, catching up with friends or unwinding with a good book

23:00 Bedtime

It's then time to prepare for a restful night's sleep to recharge and be ready for another active & fun day ahead.
