    An established reputation in the study of Africa and its diasporas.

    We offer a range of postgraduate study opportunities. From taught Masters programmes in Africa, Development and Social Research, to Masters- and doctoral-level research degrees. We enjoy a friendly, well integrated postgraduate community with students from the UK, Africa and all parts of the world. Staff and students work together closely and take part in an active calendar of events. The Department of African Studies and Anthropology hosts a seminar series, where staff, postgraduate students and visiting scholars present papers and discuss their work-in-progress.
