    All the space you need

Our green and spacious campus has all the space you need to study, relax and socialise.

With all the amenities of a small town, you’ll find shops, bars, and cafés, plus medical and dental surgeries, sports facilities, and even our own train station to transport you to the heart of the city in just seven minutes.

Looking for cultural inspiration? With the Barber Institute of Fine Arts, the Bramall Music Building, Winterbourne House and Garden and the Lapworth Museum of Geology on campus, you’ll be spoilt for choice.

    Visit an open day

During the busy seasons or exams, the green spaces become areas to relax, with students gathering for a break, to eat lunch or maybe just get a bit of studying done in the fresh air! Everything is in one place but is only a short and cheap train ride away from the rest of the city

Buildings and spaces

We continually invest in our campus spaces to provide the best experiences for our students.

Over the last ten years, our campus has seen a series of changes including:

  • A new Main Library which is home to over 2.1 million printed books and journals and 40 miles of shelving (time to get your steps in!)
  • The University's Sport and Fitness Centre, including the region’s first 50m-length pool, 200+ station gym, 2000m2 arena and much more.
  • Our Green Heart at the centre of campus where students relax and study, this space is multi-functional for markets, performances and events, and comes to life with outdoor cinemas, music concerts and more.
  • The Collaborative Teaching Laboratory, which unites STEM subjects all under one roof to support the latest methods in laboratory teaching.
  • Our Teaching and Learning Building, equipped for future-focused learning and teaching with large lecture theatres combined with social study spaces to support a variety of learning experiences.
  • Our new School of Engineering which has strengthened the relationship between our teaching and research in engineering disciplines with contemporary and flexible spaces.
  • And our new Molecular Sciences building, showcasing research and innovation and promoting collaborative work across disciplines.

    A campus full of opportunity

Campus is a vibrant and diverse hub of activity all year round. With student social events, research showcases, family fun days, live sporting events and more, there is always something exciting happening.

But if that wasn't enough, the city centre of Birmingham, the UK's second city, is only a short train ride away from our 'University' train station.
