Campus life
With historic buildings, modern facilities and green surroundings, our Edgbaston campus
is a place to be inspired. Home to a diverse, global community of students, it has everything you need, including shops, cafés, study spaces and friendly people.
During the busy seasons or exams, the green spaces become areas to relax, with students gathering for a break, to eat lunch or maybe just get a bit of studying done in the fresh air! Everything is in one place but is only a short and cheap train ride away from the rest of the city

Buildings and spaces
We continually invest in our campus spaces to provide the best experiences for our students.
Over the last ten years, our campus has seen a series of changes including:
- A new Main Library which is home to over 2.1 million printed books and journals and 40 miles of shelving (time to get your steps in!)
- The University's Sport and Fitness Centre, including the region’s first 50m-length pool, 200+ station gym, 2000m2 arena and much more.
- Our Green Heart at the centre of campus where students relax and study, this space is multi-functional for markets, performances and events, and comes to life with outdoor cinemas, music concerts and more.
- The Collaborative Teaching Laboratory, which unites STEM subjects all under one roof to support the latest methods in laboratory teaching.
- Our Teaching and Learning Building, equipped for future-focused learning and teaching with large lecture theatres combined with social study spaces to support a variety of learning experiences.
- Our new School of Engineering which has strengthened the relationship between our teaching and research in engineering disciplines with contemporary and flexible spaces.
- And our new Molecular Sciences building, showcasing research and innovation and promoting collaborative work across disciplines.
