As a distance learner, what loans am I eligible to receive?
Students studying a Distance Learning (off-campus) program are exempt from taking out Federal Loans to fund their study. They are, however, eligible to apply for a Private Loan from Sallie Mae or Navient. The Smart Option Loan provided by Sallie Mae and the Navient Earnest Loan are the only private loans currently available to American students studying at the University of Birmingham.
