Monita is an esteemed educator with a rich background in Statistics and Data Analytics, boasting over 23 years of teaching experience. Her journey into academia began with a Masters in Statistics from Gauhati University, Assam, India, and is a Gold Medallist for securing a First-Class-First position in her MSc. Fuelling her academic passion, she pursued a PhD in Queueing Theory from Brunel University, West London, United Kingdom.
While pursuing her MSc, she was offered a position in a Government of India Insurance Company and embarked on her professional journey. However, her deep-seated interest in academia prompted her transition to a Lecturer in Statistics at Cotton University, India.
Driven by her passion for teaching and research, Monita sought opportunities abroad, serving as a Lecturer in Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Bahrain. Her expertise and experience flourished as she joined the Department of Statistics at the University of Leeds, followed by a position as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Exeter. In addition to her teaching roles, she contributed as the Programme Director of BSc in Business Analytics at the University of Exeter.
Beyond her academic pursuits, Monita finds joy in embracing new experiences, enriching her ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Her interests extend to music and dance, reflecting her vibrant and multifaceted personality.
