Dafni is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham, Department of International Development. She is mainly interested in studying individual environmental attitudes and corporate green commitments. Her research has appeared in the European Journal of Political Research.

In her dissertation, she studied the propagation of pro-environmental ideas. In particular, she examined how international forces influence individuals’ environmental attitudes, and how the domestic political system responds to this influence.

Biography

Dafni Kalatzi Pantera is a final year PhD student at the University of Essex and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham. She is part of the CATALYSE Project lead by Dr. Niheer Dasandi. 

In her dissertation, she studied the propagation of pro-environmental ideas. In particular, examining how international forces influence individuals’ environmental attitudes, and how the domestic political system responds to this influence. 

Dafni’s main area of interest is environmental politics, and in particular environmental attitudes and corporate green commitments. Among others she has focused on the effect of the climate COP meetings on environmental attitudes, and the effect of public pressure on companies’ environmental behaviour.

During her PhD, she was also a visiting researcher at the University of Konstanz – Cluster of Excellence: The Politics of Inequality (Fall 2022). As part of her PhD, she was a Research Assistant in various projects both within and outside of the University of Essex. Additionally, she was an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Government at the University of Essex, and a Teaching Assistant at the Essex Summer School in Social Sciences Data Analysis.

She has received training in various quantitative methods, such as spatial econometrics, causal inference, and textual analysis.
