Biography

Lin is a Research Fellow on the Mandala Programme at the Institute of Applied Health Research. She uses health economics methods to systematically generate evidence on urban food system transformation. The application of these methods includes economic evaluation of interventions, econometric, and economic modelling methods. She also contributes to the system mapping, economic data acquisition, and economic evidence synthesis within the programme.

Lin previously worked as a Research Fellow for the Nuffield Foundation funded project ‘Vulnerability, migration, and wellbeing: investigating experiences, perceptions, and barriers’. She conducts quantitative research on the wellbeing status of migrants before and during the COVID-19 pandemic, presenting her findings at national and international conferences.

Lin was awarded her PhD in Economics in 2020 by the University of Birmingham, where she worked on the determinants of health-compromising behaviours in China, including smoking, heavy drinking, physical inactivity, and obesity.
