Baoyu Zhang is a PhD student jointly supervised by Professor Chris Parker and Dr David Craven. He was awarded Outstanding Graduate of Beijing's Higher Education Institutions by Beijing Municipal Commission of Education in 2023.

Baoyu’s Erdős number is 3 and he always looks forward to broadening his horizons. He has been invited to give talks at many prestigious institutions, including the Universities of Bristol, Cambridge, and Peking University. Since early 2025, Baoyu has been serving as chair of the organisers for Seminars on Groups and Graphs based at Southern University of Science and Technology in Shenzhen.
