Dr Trottner is a statistician working at the interface of mathematical statistics, machine learning and stochastic processes. His current research interests include statistics for SPDEs, data-driven optimal control and statistical aspects of deep generative models, where he focuses on the theoretical convergence analysis of the developed methods.

Biography

Lukas's PhD research was on exploiting stability properties of Markov processes for the development and statistical analysis of nonparametric methods to estimate their characteristics. After completing his PhD at University of Mannheim in September 2021, he joined Aarhus University as a Postdoc. In September 2024 he joined University of Birmingham as an Assistant Professor in Statistics.
