Venue
Nicolson Building, Winterbourne Botanic Gardens, University of Birmingham (accommodation at Conference Park, University of Birmingham).
The venue is a 15-minute taxi ride from Birmingham New Street rail terminus, which in turn is a 15-minute train journey from Birmingham International Airport (BHX). Flights to BHX are available from a large number of UK, European and worldwide cities.
Registration fee
- £192.50 (late registration full delegate) without overnight accommodation.
- £55 (Student/NGO delegate) without overnight accommodation on 25 April.
Registration is inclusive of meals and refreshments.
Please register as early as possible as places are limited. The “early-bird” rate is available until 15 February 2018. From 16 February the registration fee will be £350.
A limited number of places at the discounted rate of £150 for students and NGO representatives are also available. Again you are advised to register for these places as soon as possible.

Conference format
There will be plenary talks given by leading international figures at the start of the programme for each morning and afternoon. These will be supported by a full programme of oral and poster presentations selected from those submitted.
Call for papers
The conference is open to all researchers from the UK or overseas. Contributions from young researchers are particularly welcome.
We are seeking contributions that cover all aspects of research into UNEP/UN-ECE POPs, “candidate” POPs, Brominated Flame Retardants, perfluorinated compounds and related chemicals of concern.

All aspects of research will be considered but key areas are
- Human Exposure (trends, pathways, biomarkers, Biotransformation etc)
- Human Health Impacts
- Measurement and Modelling of Environmental Levels, Fate and Behaviour
- Advances in the Sampling and Measurement of POPs
- Ecotoxicology
- Formation, Sources, Emission Inventories and Release Pathways
Abstract submissions
Presentations will be selected on the basis of abstracts submitted. Abstracts (prepared in Microsoft Word) should not exceed 400 words in length and should be submitted via emailing the abstract as a word document to Marian Jordan (m.a.jordan@bham.ac.uk) by no later than 1 February 2018.
When submitting, please state whether you would prefer an oral or a poster presentation slot
