I am a Rolls-Royce Engineering Fellow in Manufacturing/ Machining and the Royal Academy of Engineering Visiting Professor at the Mechanical Engineering/ School of Engineering/ University of Birmingham. I have 30 years of academic research and industrial experience in the machining field. My particular interest is in the development of innovative sustainable machining technologies for advanced material systems, in collaboration with academia and industry.
I am a Chartered Engineer, Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society, and a chair/member of several university Industrial Advisory Boards and international industrial/academic consortiums.
In my Visiting professor role, through industrial lectures, supervision of research projects and support of specific teaching modules, I am bringing industrial experience to help students develop the knowledge and skillset required by industry.
