Shashitha Jayakody is an assistant professor in finance. Her research focuses on the interactions between law, politics, and corporate finance. She has presented her research at various conferences and published in the Journal of Corporate Finance and Economics Letters.

Before joining the Birmingham Business School in June 2024, she has held academic positions at the University of Bradford, SOAS University of London, University of Kent, and SLIIT Business School. She has also gained industry experience as an equity research analyst
