Natalie joined The University of Birmingham in March 2021 and is based in Dubai. She is a Chartered Accountant with both the ACCA and ICAEW and has been teaching chartered accountancy for over 16 years in both the UK and UAE.
Natalie is originally from the UK where she gained a BSc and MSc in Accountancy and prior to a career in professional lecturing she was a Chartered Accountant in private practice in the UK.
Natalie has worked for one of the largest accountancy training providers in the world both in the UK and UAE where she most recently held a senior leadership position as the ACCA Product Head in Dubai. She therefore brings a wealth of both academic and real-life experiences to facilitate learning in the classroom. She has also been the External Quality Assessor for the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) VAT qualification in the Gulf region and has sat on a university strategic advisory board in the region prior to her role at UoBD.
Natalie has a passion for teaching and believes that with a little hard work, anything is possible which many of her students would agree with by winning global, regional and national prizes in their unseen chartered exams.
Her research areas of interest are Management Accounting and Business Strategy.
Natalie is also one of the Programme Directors for BSc Accounting and Finance at The University of Birmingham, Dubai.
