Before joining the University of Birmingham's Business School, Dr. Veselina Stoyanova served as an Assistant Professor in Strategy and Organisation at the University of Strathclyde, Business School, UK. She has also held significant positions internationally, including a Visiting International Professor role at the University of Strasbourg, EM Strasbourg Business School in Strasbourg, France, and a Distinguished Overseas Scholar position at Chongqing Technology and Business University (CTBU) in China.
Dr. Stoyanova holds a PhD in Management with a focus on Strategy from the University of Edinburgh Business School, which is accredited by AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA. During her doctoral studies, she was awarded the prestigious University of Edinburgh Principal’s Development PhD scholarship. Additionally, she earned an MSc with Distinction in International Business and Emerging Markets from the University of Edinburgh Business School (UK) and a BA (honours) in International Business with a Marketing focus from Ramapo College of New Jersey, USA. Her undergraduate studies were supported by a four-year full-time merit Presidential scholarship.
Beyond her academic achievements, Dr. Stoyanova has applied her expertise as a business sustainability consultant in the financial service sector in the UK, where she provided company managers with valuable guidance to companies on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) matters. Dr. Stoyanova is frequently invited to share management expertise and consult leading business organisations in her native Bulgaria. Internationally, Dr. Stoyanova has also been honoured with invitations to deliver expert talks and share research insights in Japan, China, India, Colombia, Singapore, Finland, USA, Germany, France and Bulgaria.
