Research in Film and Creative Writing

Staff research in the Department of Film and Creative Writing is diverse, innovative and dynamic. Our members produce leading work in the fields of critical and creative practice.

Research into the aesthetic, historical and theoretical contexts of literature and film is complemented by our strong traditions in creative practice as research. The department is home to award-winning writers and our academic work is regularly disseminated in short film, documentary and digital media formats.

The department enjoys a close collaborative relationship with B-Film, an international, interdisciplinary film research centre based at the University of Birmingham.
