The journal Philosophy of the Mind Sciences has published a symposium on Lisa Bortolotti's latest book, Why Delusions Matter (Bloomsbury 2023).

In the book, Bortolotti offers a view of delusions as those beliefs central to our identity that appear to an interpreter as implausible and unshakeable. She argues against the view that delusions are pathological by default, and explores ways in which we can engage with people who have radically different views from ours.

The symposium contains a precis of the book, four critical commentaries, and a response by the author. All contributions are available open access.
