The University of Birmingham Centre for Railway Research & Education (BCRRE) is looking forward to exhibiting at InnoTrans 2024.

With many exciting conversations to be had, we can be found in Hall A, City Cube, Stand 60 from Tuesday, September 24, to Friday, September 27. A great number of BCRRE representatives are available throughout the week, and our diary is open for meetings.

Several events and activities will be taking place on the stand some of which include bespoke discussions around some of our research themes:

Tuesday 24th September

09.00 - 13:30, Prof Lei Chen will be on the stand talking about Digital Twinning and our in-house simulation software (BravE).

13:00 - 18:00, Prof Roger Dixon will be showcasing Repoint, our next-generation track switch.

18:00 onwards: BCRRE’s dinner at the British Embassy (invite only).

Wednesday 25th September

09:00 - 13:30, Dr Ning will be presenting on Intelligent train control and light rail operators.

13.30 - 18:00, followed by Dr Zhongbei who will be talking about; power and energy systems for decarbonisation; railway electrification; energy management for the flexible traction power supply network with multi-mode trains, renewable energy sources and energy storage; digital twin for railway energy systems

Thursday 26th September

09:00 – 13:30 Dr Holly Foss will be available and will present on our education offering and CPD.

Please note: All talks and activities are informal and will be held as group chats. Simultaneous conversational activity will take place on the stand during these talks, and many of our colleagues will be available to network with.

Many of our colleagues are also involved in events across the week, and you may spot them at the Women in Rail Awards, ERCI Innovation Awards, Saxony Trade & Investment reception, Women in Mobility leadership talk, Berlin Brandenburg Mobility Cluster reception, and many more.
