IUFRO (International Union of Forest Research Organizations) 26th World Congress took place from June 23 - 29 in Stockholm, Sweden, with over 4000 delegates in attendance. This was a major forestry science, practice and policy event where scientists and stakeholders from across the globe came together to discuss priority areas of forest research, policy and management.
The Birmingham Institute of Forest Research (BIFoR) was well represented by PhD students, research fellows and Professors. BIFoR members convened two sessions and presented eight talks and two posters.
Session: Experimental Underpinning for Projections of Forest Futures.
Conveners: A. Rob Mackenzie (University of Birmingham), Rossella Guerrieri (University of Bologna, Italy), and Virginie Baldy (Aix Marseille University, France)
Session: Towards a Global Observatory of Forest Dynamics
Conveners: Adriane Esquivel Muelbert (University of Birmingham) and Thomas A. M. Pugh (Lund University, and University of Birmingham)
