The QS World University Rankings are the most commonly used global rankings and are a measure of a university’s global reputation.
The School of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Birmingham conducts world-leading research to increase physical activity and optimise health across the lifespan. Our degree programmes cover a wide range of areas from exercise science to sport coaching and allow students to develop and apply knowledge in the sciences of sport, exercise and health. Furthermore, our research underpins our teaching and investigates topical issues such as the workings of the healthy body and the way in which physical activity promotes health and wellbeing.
This summer the City of Birmingham will host the Commonwealth Games, and as an Official Partner of the Birmingham 2022, the University of Birmingham will be playing a key role in delivering an outstanding international sporting event that will focus the eyes of the world on our city, our region and our world-leading reputation for excellence.
The QS World Ranking is based on surveying academic staff that declare a speciality in the subject area, and employers who seek to employ graduates that specialise in the discipline. It is also based on research output and impact, with both citations and paper output measured over a five-year period.
We are delighted to be in the World top 10 for our QS subject ranking. This reflects the quality of research we undertake, the outstanding teaching we deliver and the exceptional students we graduate.
