The Autumn Statement and social care

Professor Catherine Needham argues promises on high care costs are being broken.

"It is disappointing to see the Autumn Statement confirming that the cap on social care costs is being delayed. This is history repeating. The cap was in the Care Act 2014, delayed for two years, then abandoned before being revived in the Health and Care Act 2022. Promises to protect people from very high care costs keep being broken."
