"Studying at the University of Birmingham has been an incredible journey and one that I do not believe I would have experienced had it not been for the HSBC scholarship.
"Both my parents' careers were short-lived due to having to raise two of my disabled siblings who require 24/7 care. Therefore, with this scholarship, I had the benefit of being home more often, allowing me to support my parents with the care of my siblings whilst also being able to perform well in my academics.
"I am glad to say, I have graduated with a 2.1 Civil Engineering degree. I also managed to receive two graduate jobs and I have decided to accept a software engineering role with Accenture.
"I truly believe that the HSBC scholarship played a massive role in me securing these jobs because it relieved so much pressure, enabling me to maximise the effort I put into enhancing my skills at university.
"As my journey comes to an end, and I embark on my career, I hope to also give back to the community and ensure that others like me go on to higher education and fulfil their dreams. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting me over the years."
