Akehurst's Modern Introduction to International Law 8th Edition By Alexander Orakhelashvili

The eighth edition of the one of the leading British textbooks of international law, Akehurst’s Modern Introduction to International Law, has been published by Routledge in December 2018.

This textbook, originally written by a leading British international law scholar Michael Akehurst, has for decades been one of the principal textbooks of international law in the UK and worldwide. The textbook is renowned for its clear structure and accessible style. After the death of Michael Akehurst in the 1980s, the textbook was originally updated by Professor Peter Malanczuk in 1997, and the new eighth edition has been written by Birmingham Law School's Dr Alexander Orakhelashvili. There have been two decades between editions -  a period that has witnessed the unprecedented expansion of the international legal system and the proliferation of international tribunals.
