The Shakespeare Institute are holding a Virtual Open Day on Friday 15 May. Here are 5 reasons (among many!) why you should join.

In normal circumstances we’d be welcoming you to our beautiful home, Mason Croft, in the heart of Stratford-upon-Avon. Instead, we’re opening our virtual doors to give you give a glimpse in to life at the Shakespeare Institute. You can also take a Google maps tour of the building here!

The Shakespeare Institute is at the forefront of Shakespearean scholarship, and our staff, all of them internationally recognized in their fields, are what make it truly special. This is your chance to ask our Shakespeare academics about anything relating to studying Shakespeare with us. Professor Michael Dobson – the Director of the Shakespeare Institute will be joining the chat alongside renowned Shakespeare academics Dr Simon Smith and Dr Abigail Rokison-Woodall.

We work very closely with the Royal Shakespeare Company through our exciting collaboration and our students are the main benefactors of this unique relationship. Whether it’s performing at The Other Place Theatre, hearing from RSC experts at workshops or working collaboratively on research, our students enjoy an experience like no other. Tracy Irish (RSC Education Associate Practitioner) will be joining the chat to answer anything you need to know about the collaboration and the projects, workshops and events you may be involved in when you join us.

The Other Place

Speak to us about our course content, assignments, our student run theatre company – the ‘The Shakespeare Institute Players’, our Thursday Seminars or our world-class Shakespeare Institute library which is home to over 60,000 volumes, archives, manuscripts, and audio-visual collections.
