Dr Sophie Cox, Lecturer at the School of Chemical Engineering and the Healthcare Technologies Institute is leading a team who are engineering novel medical systems to fight antimicrobial resistance using honey. The team are working on creative ways to deliver a product including a spray, a cream, and also a powder which becomes a gel when applied to a wound, creating a protective barrier.
The Healthcare Technologies Institute is tackling one of the nine United Nation's Global Goals - ‘Good Health and Well-Being’. Find out how our researchers are finding new ways to combat antimicrobial resistance – one of the biggest challenges facing mankind.
