Dr Emanuela Patti will give a keynote speech at the international conference on Dante and XX and XXI centuries, which will be held in Leeds, 24-25 March 2017.

By drawing upon her book Pasolini after Dante. The 'Divine Mimesis' and the Politics of Representation, her talk entitled On Interconnections will address the following questions:

  • To what extent can we rethink Dantism as a ‘theory of interconnectedness’?
  • How does this affect the common understanding of Dantism as both ‘the imitation of Dante’ and 'the presence of his expressions, themes, and characters in other authors’ work’?
  • What does this imply in terms of research methodologies?
