The Screening Rights Festival showing of Black Code at Birmingham's MAC on 27 October will be followed by a panel discussion featuring Birmingham's Dr Marianne Wade.

The documentary is "a gripping account of how governments control and manipulate the internet inorder to censor and monitor their citizens" and due to her background researching surveillance technologies, the regulation of coercive powers and law enforcement agencies, BLS academic Dr Marianne Wade is a member of the panel commenting at this event and answering audience questions after the screening.
