The University of Birmingham joins eleven leading universities in the UK to partner with Aviva on a new international scholarship programme to promote British education in Asia. New funds have been made available to assist outstanding students in China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, Taiwan and Vietnam to further their studies at leading UK universities.
The University of Birmingham joins eleven leading universities in the UK to partner with Aviva on a new international scholarship programme to promote British education in Asia. New funds have been made available to assist outstanding students in China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, Taiwan and Vietnam to further their studies at leading UK universities.
Up to £40,000 per year will be available for students depending on their degree programme, making a substantial contribution towards fees and living costs.
Professor Robin Mason, Pro-Vice-Chancellor International, who attended the Aviva Scholarship launch in London on 11 July said:

This scheme brings together two world-leading British sectors - education and financial services - to benefit the most promising students in China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, Taiwan, and Vietnam who are seeking to study in the UK.”
Chris Wei, Executive Chairman of Aviva Asia and Global Chairman of Aviva Digital, commented, “As the UK’s leading insurer, Aviva is proud to have this exclusive opportunity to work with leading UK universities and strengthen ties between the UK and South East Asia.”

Applications open in September 2017 and the first group of scholars are expected to matriculate in autumn 2018. The programme is open for Aviva customers in Asia and their children for the duration of all applicable graduate courses at Birmingham.
