HSMC's Yvonne Sawbridge has been appointed as a member of the advisory committee for an NIHR funded project 'Measuring quality in community nursing: a mixed methods study (QuICN)' – led by Sue Horrocks and Katherine Pollard at the University of West England.

Measuring Quality in Community Nursing (QuICN) is a mixed methods project comprising a national survey and case study investigating how quality indicators used for community nursing are selected and applied in practice and their usefulness from the perspectives of health commissioners, service providers, patients and carers.

The overall aim of the study is to understand how quality schemes for community nursing services work in order to maximise their potential to achieve their intended goal of improving the quality of patient care. The final report is due in the Autumn.
