In 2016, the University’s Alumni Relations Team are fundraising to support Shakespeare Institute projects, as part of a wider campaign to celebrate culture and ensure that we can maintain our outstanding  cultural collections.

The support for The Shakespeare Institute will enable the development of three key areas of work:

  • Offering scholarships and bursaries to enable exceptional and highly talented students to undertake the Institute's PhD and MA programmes
  • Providing summer courses for teachers from school in disadvantaged areas, equipping teachers with ideas and techniques for engaging their pupils in Shakespeare's work
  • Digitising collections from the Shakespeare Institute Library, improving access for researchers and making the library available across the globe
